Terry Stychin - General Manager

Terry Stychin – was born and raised in a small town north of Edmonton (Athabasca, Alberta).

Under his Father’s leadership Terry learned the principles of independent business, customer service and the value of building customer loyalty “customer for life” was a discipline that was engrained in the business.

After his father’s passing he operated the family business for a few years before selling to gain a post-secondary education. Terry graduated NAIT in 1989 with honours in Business Administration Diploma.

After 20 years in the Distribution & Supply Chain industry he was fortunate to join McKesson in 2008 as Director of Sales for Western Canada in Edmonton. In this new role he was responsible for leading the Pharmacy Distribution team and managing all customer relations.

He quickly learned this business and was promoted in July 2012 to the position of Assistant VP Pharmaceutical distribution and was relocated to Calgary, Alberta.

June 2013 Terry was promoted to the role of Regional VP for Western Canada where he was responsible for the overall leadership and management of 6 distribution centers and 2,500 employees and the overall Pharmaceutical distribution business in the Western marketplace. 

In 2014 he was then moved into the retail side of the McKesson business as President, Medicine Shoppe Canada. In 2015 with the acquisition of Remedy’sRx Terry was given the role of integrating the Remedy’sRx banner business into McKesson retail group, from there I was named President, Remedy’sRx and continued to lead the Medicine Shoppe Franchise business and Remedy’sRx team.

April 2018 Terry was promoted to be taking over the reins as President of Guardian, I.D.A., and the rest of the retail  Enterprise in English Canada, a portfolio of 2,000 plus members and franchisee’s.

April 2019 left McKesson to take the lead role as the CEO for the  Rubicon Pharmaces.  Rubicon was a 100 store enterprise in western Canada. Terry and his team grew the EBITDA by 55% in the 3 years under his leadership. In June 2022 Rubicon was sold to a publicly traded company for $435M. 

Terry took over as the General Manager of The Athabasca Golf & Country Club in July 2025 and is enjoying making minor changes and additions to the golf course to improve the member & players experience.

Today Terry and his wife Angela are now back living in the Edmonton area celebrating their 30th  wedding  anniversary later this year. 

They have a busy home life as they have 3 wonderful children, one daughter and two boys.  They enjoy quality time together at their recreation property and travelling.

Colton Girard - Head Golf Professional

Colton Girard was born and raised in St. Albert, Alberta. Throughout his childhood, he competed at a high level in both baseball and hockey, experiences that helped him develop important life skills such as a strong work ethic, resilience, teamwork, and effective communication.

After graduating from high school in 2018, Colton’s dedication, both in the classroom and on the baseball field, earned him a scholarship to play collegiate baseball in Taft, California in 2019.

In the spring of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic brought his college baseball career to an unexpected end, prompting Colton to return to St. Albert. That fall, he began pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT).

In the summer of 2022, Colton joined the team at Sturgeon Valley Golf & Country Club, where he began working toward becoming a PGA of Canada golf professional. In 2023, he successfully passed the PGA of Canada Playing Ability Test and became an Apprentice Professional.

During his time at Sturgeon Valley Golf & Country Club, Colton gained valuable experience in the golf industry, managing various club leagues and tournaments while helping develop a highly successful junior golf program. Over his four years at the club, he also facilitated hundreds of golf lessons, led multiple junior camps, and instructed Operation 36 Junior Academy classes.

In 2025, after years of dedication and hard work, Colton graduated from NAIT with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management.

Today, Colton is excited to bring his experience and education to Athabasca Golf & Country Club, where he looks forward to continuing to grow the game of golf within both the club and the surrounding community.

Tim "Timo" Stychin - Food & Beverage Manager

Timmy ‘Timo’ Stychin, born and raised in Athabasca. He worked in the family business, attending NAIT to earn his Red Seal in Automotive Mechanics.

In 1985, Timo made a career change. He moved to Penticton, BC, where he focused on tourism operations and owned and operated several small businesses in adventure and retail.

During the shoulder seasons, he worked in restaurants and traveled, discovering his new passion for the hospitality industry. Timo purchased his first restaurant (The Border Cantina) in 1988 in Whistler, BC.

He then purchased a second restaurant in Pentition BC (Pasta Factory), in 1993, moving back into the Okanagan. The Pasta Factory was the most popular place in town at the time, turning the tables 2-3 times a night.

Timo sold Pasta Factory in 1997 and started his new adventure in Mexico. He had always wanted to own a business in Mexico and chose Puerto Vallarta, where he connected with a Canadian group, Rancho Banderas Resort and Spa. 

Timo partnered with the developer of Rancho Banderas Resort Spa and opened Rancho Relaxo restaurant. During the tender with Rancho Banderas,, they acquired a property in Belize in 2001, Ambergiz Caye, San Pedro Town, named Costa Maya Reef Resort. He was given the responsibility of overseeing the Belize property while remaining in PV with his family, traveling back and forth between the properties until Belize was sold in 2010.

Timo was promoted to the Director of Rancho Banderas All Suites and Spa Resort. In 2010, under Timo’s direction, the resort was purchased by Marival Resort, which expanded it into a 295-room all-inclusive resort and changed the name to Armony Resort and Spa. Timo retired in 2019, staying on as a consultant for 2 years.

Timo has an 18-year-old son (Timmy) and his partner, Lili Palacios, back in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Timo has taken the opportunity to return to his hometown for the golf season, where his mom, 89 years young, lives and will be working in the Food and Beverage department. He looks forward to working with Terry and Colton at AGCC and servicing the members.
